June 4th – 6th saw the return of the Subcon Engineering Exhibition to the NEC, Birmingham and Next Gen Makers exhibited alongside MSC Industrial Supply Co to promote our newly established partnership.

Subcon is firmly established as the must-attend event for engineering subcontract manufacturing professionals across all industry sectors, looking to source suppliers, benchmark capabilities and secure the right partners to help them remain competitive in a global market.

Exhibiting alongside a market leader in the supply of Metalworking and MRO industrial consumable items such as MSC Industrial Supply was a fantastic opportunity for Next Gen Makers and MSC to promote the newly established partnership between the two companies.

Next Gen Makers Director Adam Tipper comments: “Subcon was a great platform to promote the newly established partnership between MSC and Next Gen Makers. We had a lot of positive conversations with industry decision makers and their feedback recognized that an innovative, outside the box solution such as this partnership is much needed in order to help solve the engineering skills shortage in the West Midlands”.

MSC Industrial Supply is acutely aware of the engineer skills shortage that is causing great concern for many of its customers, especially within SME (Small to Medium-sized Enterprises) manufacturers. The partnership between MSC and Next Gen Makers is all about making a positive change to the lives of many young engineers and engineering firms. Working together, they will address the major problem that faces UK manufacturing today and for years to come.
