LISI Aerospace, holders of the Gold standard ‘Engineering Apprenticeships: Employer Accreditation‘ for three years running, this week hosted a visit of fellow member companies of the Next Gen Makers Engineering Apprenticeships: Best Practice community.
The company, based in Rugby, showcased their apprenticeship scheme, enabling members to learn from the experiences of their apprentices on site, whilst also exploring the digital transformation journey that the company has implemented on the shop floor.
Kirstie Kennedy, HR Manager at LISI Aerospace commented: “We were honoured to host our fellow members from Next Gen Makers Best Practice Programme.
“Demonstrating our commitment to the next generation of LISI AEROSPACE employees, we showcased how we integrate our apprentices into LISI life via demonstrations and real life apprenticeship journeys.
“To say I’m proud of all our apprentices is an understatement to watch them learn, grow and develop their careers is hugely rewarding.”
Best practice and insight shared covered a wide range of themes, including:
* School Engagement and Outreach
* Work Experience
* Apprentice Pathways
* Funding and levy transfer
* Apprentice Onboarding
* Mentoring and Development
* Projects for Apprentices
* How to manage the relationship with your training provider including metrics and reports
*Continual Improvement Methodologies
The visit is part of Next Gen Makers’ Engineering Apprenticeships: Best Practice Programme, a national community of engineering and manufacturing firms sharing best practice regards running successful apprenticeship schemes and winning ways to future proof an engineering workforce.
The programme includes monthly best practice member Webinars and several in person events throughout each year.
The successful LISI Aerospace visit follows last year’s inaugural trip to Festo in Nortampton.
