Have you been thinking about bringing in new talent, new skills, have older workers that may need to be replaced in the near future or are you looking for an injection of fresh energy and ideas into your workforce?
With many manufacturers getting back towards what they consider to be a respectable level of production capacity, many others having integrated the majority of workers back from furlough, below are 3 reasons why we believe now is the perfect time to take on Engineering Apprentices.
1) During the Chancellor’s Summer Statement this week, it was announced that employers will receive £2,000 for taking on every Apprentice, plus a further £1,000 if they are 18 or under when starting
2) The West Midlands is the only region in the country where 100% funding of Apprentice training is currently available via the LEVY transfer fund
3) There are thousands of qualified, capable young people in our network wanting to start a career in Engineering, more than we have ever seen since starting Next Gen Makers
Contrary to popular belief, there ARE so many young people that want to start a career in Engineering. For example, recently over 9,000 young people applied for 800 Apprenticeship roles at BAE Systems.
As noted above, across the College and school partners within the Next Gen Makers network, there are thousands of qualified young people perfectly suited to a variety of Engineering Apprenticeship roles.
Could your workforce benefit from an injection or youthful enthusiasm? New ideas? Digital skills? Is investing in the quality of your workforce the ideal route to recovery?
For those of you that answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions, Next Gen Makers is perfectly placed to take the hassle out of finding the right individuals and courses for your roles whilst helping you access all of the relevant funding.
What’s more, for every Apprentice a manufacturer recruits via the Next Gen Makers model, they inspire hundreds more young people to consider a career in manufacturing and engineering. It’s good for you, good for industry and good for society.
From July on wards, we are offering a FREE skills gap analysis to help you identify the right Apprenticeships for the right roles and strategically plan to future proof your workforce.
