Johnny Mathieson, Siemens Digital Industries: How benchmarking has benefitted our Apprenticeship scheme
Name: Johnny Mathieson
Position: Early Career Professionals Manager
Company: Siemens Digital Industries
How has benchmarking as part of the Engineering Apprenticeships: Best Practice Programme benefitted you?
Benchmarking has really benefitted Siemens Digital Industries because it validates what we are doing. It was a real eye opener for us that we are doing a lot of things really well and is an opportunity for us to develop these further. The experience is invaluable and as an employer training provider, OFSTED valued that we had already made attempts to have our Apprenticeship Scheme externally validated.
Do you believe your Apprenticeships Scheme has improved since you have been involved in the Programme?
Our Apprenticeship Scheme has certainly improved since we have been involved in the Programme. It has reaffirmed a checklist that we have for our Apprenticeships Scheme, ensuring that we are on the right track and doing the right things where our Apprentices are at the heart of everything.
How will having the Make UK Engineering Apprenticeships: Employer Kitemark benefit your company?
Having the Gold standard ‘Excellent Employer’ status for the Make UK Engineering Apprenticeships: Employer Kitemark benefits Siemens Digital Industries because it shows that we are a serious employer of Apprentices and how important Apprentices are to our company.
